Valve shell experiment



The shell experiment of the valve is the pressure test of the entire valve shell formed by the connection of the valve body and the valve cover. Its purpose is to check the tightness of the valve body and the valve cover and the pressure resistance of the entire housing including the connection between the valve body and the valve cover.

Each shell should be tested before leaving the factory. Prior to the shell experiment, the valve was not allowed to be painted or other leak-proof coatings were used. However, it is allowed to perform chemical rust prevention without sealing and lining of lining valves. If the user checks the inventory valve, the existing coating is no longer removed.

During the pressure test process, no external forces that affect the test results shall be applied to the valve. The test pressure should remain unchanged during the holding pressure and testing period. When using liquids for experiments, the gas in the body cavity of the valve should be excluded as much as possible. After the dwell time has been reached, no leakage or structural damage may occur in the housing (including the packing and the connection between the valve body and the valve cover).
