Fire ball valve industry standards released



The Ministry of Public Security Technology Supervision Committee approved the release of the GA 79-2010 "Fire Ball Valve" industry standard on December 5, 2010, which is a mandatory standard and will be implemented from the date of approval. GA 79-1994 "Fire Ball Valve Performance Requirements and Test Methods" was annulled at the same time.

 The fire ball valve is the main component in the fire water supply pipeline. It is widely used in fire-fighting water supply systems, foam fire-extinguishing systems, fire-fighting vehicles and other fire-fighting facilities and fire-fighting equipment. The performance of the ball valve directly affects the stability and reliability of the water supply pipeline. The original fire ball valve standard was established in 1994. This revised work combines the implementation of standards and the technical development trends of related products at home and abroad over the years to further improve the technical requirements and test methods for fire ball valves.

Compared with the 1994 version, the new version mainly includes the following changes in the technical content:

     1. Added classification of "drive mode";

     2. Simplified the specifications, changed to DN (nominal size) according to the relevant standards, and adjusted the model preparation method;

     3, increase the ball valve structure length and connection size requirements;

     4, increase the ball valve flow requirements;

     5, increase the ball valve power drive device requirements;

     6. Increased anti-corrosion performance requirements and test methods for flow-through components;

     7, increased the emergency operating handle requirements;

     8. Modified the indicators of pressure resistance, sealing performance and static pressure life;

     9, remove the provisions of the ball valve coating color;

     10. Revised ball valve packaging, transportation and storage requirements;

     11. Added instructions for ball valve test procedures and sample quantity.

      The issuance and implementation of this industry standard has been adapted to the development needs of the fire ball valve industry. It will greatly improve the pressure bearing capacity of the water supply pipeline fire ball valve, significantly increase the safety of the water supply pipeline, and further strengthen the quality supervision and management of the product, and promote new The promotion and application of products and new technologies to ensure the safety of people's lives and properties will play an important role.
